You can see an article's PDF with a single click in Litmaps when you set up your account with LibKey.

LibKey retrieves the PDF for a paper based on your access from library-subscribed resources. It takes just a minute to enable LibKey on your Litmaps account, and start reading papers faster.

If you aren't affiliated with any university or institution, you can still see all the PDFs for Open Access papers in Litmaps.

How to set up LibKey with Litmaps

Access more PDFs for papers by connecting your institutional access to Litmaps using LibKey.

Here's how to set up LibKey in Litmaps:

  1. Login to the Litmaps app

  2. Click on your profile at the bottom left

  3. Click LibKey in the options

  4. Search for your institution

  5. Click "Select"

Now, you can return to the application. When you click on the PDF for an article that is not Open Access, you will be taken to your institutional access page.

How to see an article's PDF in Litmaps?

You can download an article's source PDF by clicking the PDF button in the paper details. See the image below for detail.

This will work automatically for all users when downloading Open Access papers. However, if the paper is not openly available, you'll need to set up LibKey for this to work. See the instructions above for more detail.
