Searching for literature is just one step of the process when it comes to a literature review. When it comes to write, you'll want to have access to all the sources you've found and to create a bibliography for your work.
Litmaps allows you to explore literature, save your work, and export articles so you can use them in your final written work.
Want to export articles out of Litmaps? Here's how.
What is a bibliography?
A bibliography is a list of all the sources you used in your research paper or project.
There are many different types of bibliographies which vary in how they are styled and what information they contain. For example, APA, Harvard, and Chicago are all different citation styles you can use for the bibliography.
How to make a bibliography for Litmaps articles?
To make a bibliography for articles you've discovered in Litmaps, you'll need to export the papers and format them in the desired citation style.
The easiest way to do this is to export your Litmaps library, and import it into your reference manager. If you use Zotero, this happens automatically when you use Zotero Sync.
Here is how to create a bibliography from sources you find in Litmaps:
Go to the Litmap or Tag with articles you found in Litmaps
Click "Export All" at the top right of the list of articles, and export a BibTeX
Open Zotero (or reference manager of your choice)
Create a collection, and import this file of articles
Select all articles in your collection, right click, and select "Create Bibliography from Items..."
Choose your citation style (APA, Chicago, etc.)
Click "OK"
You can now paste this stylized bibliography in your final paper.
Keep in mind, some writing software (like Overleaf) let you use a BibTeX from which to compute the bibliography. You can export BibTeX directly from Litmaps, allowing you to skip these intermediate steps.
