Different fields of research have different customs regarding the order of author names. For example, in biology, the last author is typically the most senior author, who lead the work. In computer science, the first author is typically considered the lead author on the paper.
Due to these variations, you may want to change how authors are ordered in publications you review in Litmaps. You can either leave the author ordering as they are listed in the original publication (first author listed first) or in the reverse (with the last author listed first).
How to change author order in Litmaps
To change the ordering of authors in Litmaps:
Click on your Profile at the bottom left
Click "Preferences"
Next to Author Labels, select either "First Author" or "Last Author"
Whichever you select, that will be the author name visible throughout the Litmaps application wherever author listed are truncated.
