Here's how to download articles you found in Litmaps.

You can download or export articles you discover in Litmaps. This can be essential when its time for you to compile a bibliography for a research paper, or just to maintain your offline organization.

This guide covers how to download the articles you find in Litmaps.

Download articles from your Litmap

You can download the articles you discover in Litmaps any time.

To export articles from a Litmap:

  1. Navigate to your Litmap

  2. Click "Articles" at the top right

  3. Click "Export All" at the top right

  4. Select your file format: BibTeX, RIS or CSV

  5. Click "Download"

Download articles from a Tag

Here's how to export articles that you've saved to a Tag:

  1. Click on a Tag in the sidebar

  2. Click "Export All"

  3. Select your file Format: BibTeX, RIS or CSV

  4. Click "Download"

Download in-text citation in Litmaps

Want to quickly reference an article you found in Litmaps? You can download or copy any article's citation information from its details in Litmaps.

Here's how to copy the citation information for an article:

  1. Click the article's title to open its details

  2. Click the "Cite" icon

  3. Set the Citation Style

  4. Click the copy icon next to the citation information

Now you can easily paste this citation information into your paper or notes.

You can also check the box "Always use this citation style", to make this the default. You can change the default citation style later in your profile settings.

Export options

Litmaps offers a range of export options.

You can configure your export in the following ways:

  • Select the articles you want to export

  • Choose your export file Format:

    • BibTeX (recommended): A format widely used by reference managers

    • CSV: This is a spreadsheet format

    • RIS: A format used by some reference managers (notably EndNote)
